Salted Tea Tree and Lavender Soap. What I love about this soap is that it has great suds that you can rub on your face, body–anywhere. The Himalayan pink salt and the essential oils combine to help soothe my skin. I use this most of the summer after I mow the farm, or do battle with chiggers and mosquitoes. This is probably my trickiest and most expensive soap to make because of the amount of pink salt I use and because I use tea tree and lavender essential oils, no fragrance oils. It also uses 100% coconut oil as the base, so it takes a long time to get it to saponify (To turn from spring water and oil into soap! Remember oil and water don’t like to mix–and they really don’t like it when I add so much salt!) It smells very herbal. I also add activated birch charcoal because my skin likes that too! This can also be used as an abrasive soap if you don’t pre-lather it in your hands.
